"BJP is not operating behind me": Rajinikanth

Speaking to reporters after returning from the Himalayas, actor Rajinikanth on Tuesday strongly condemned the vandalism of Periyar statue in Alangudi near Pudukkottai calling the act “barbaric”. When asked if BJP is operating behind him, Rajini quipped, “I have only god and people behind me.” Reacting to the Ram Rajya Rath Yatra entering Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth said the government should take appropriate action to prevent any communal riot from breaking out.
