Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduA day after Tamil Nadu crossed more than one lakh COVID-19 cases and claimed nearly 1,400 lives, the Tamil Nadu Government on Saturday rolled out new lockdown restrictions in Chennai which will come into effect from Monday (July 6).
Below are the new restriction that needs to be noted:
- Vegetables and grocery stores will be allowed to operate from Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- Tea shops will also be open from Monday to Saturday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm but only for parcels.
- Meanwhile, dine-in is again not allowed in restaurants, only parcels will be given from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm from Monday to Saturday. Also, the online food delivery service in Chennai will only be allowed till 9:00 pm.
- Small showrooms and shops are permitted to operate in accordance with the procedures to be followed which have been already announced by major stores.
- Meanwhile, other showrooms, except shopping malls and larger stores, are permitted to operate from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Looking into other factors and operations in Chennai, permission has been granted but with restrictions.
