Declaring that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will never be cancelled, Tamil Nadu BJP unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan on Tuesday asked the politicians in the state to change their approach towards the medical entrance exam. The politicians should abstain from infusing disbelief among the medical aspirants, she said.
Responding to the suicide of 17-year-old Prateebha, the BJP leader said that disappointments shouldn’t lead to death. Aspirants should think positively and have another attempt to clear the exam, Tamilisai said adding that they shouldn’t resort to suicide.
Tamilisai also quoted state school education minister K A Sengottaiyan of saying that the state has been taking steps to prepare school students for the medical entrance exam. She also requested the school education department to arrange for counselling sessions for the aspirants.
