The Department of Food Safety, on Tuesday (10-9-2019), cancelled the licence of one of the preparation centres of the popular food-chain Murugan Idly Kadai which is quite known for its south Indian cuisine.
According to reports, a lawyer had registered a complaint with the department through WhatsApp stating that the food served by the restaurant in its Parrys branch contained a worm. When officials inspected the branch, they found the accusation to be true.
Later, officials also inspected the restaurant’s preparation centre in Ambattur from which food is being delivered to 23 branches across the city. The centre was sealed temporarily after it was found preparing food in unhygienic circumstance.
