Among all the state-owned buses in the country, Metropolitan Transportation Corporation is reportedly the deadliest as about 850 people have died and 11,800 were severely injured in 2015-16 due to accidents caused by MTC buses, say media reports. On the other hand, few non-metro government buses like Punjab STC and Bihar SRTC have reportedly recorded single-digit accident numbers.
