The rail network integration between Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) and Chennai metro (Chennai beach to Velachery) will reportedly be taking place by the end of next financial year. After the integration, the pricing for tickets of MRTS may go higher up to 7 times. Currently, the fare for traveling from Chennai Beach to Velachery is Rs 10. This may go up to Rs 70 after the merger.
