The leaders of South Asia's two biggest empires Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping will have the second informal meet at the historic place of Pallava dynasty, Mamallapuram aka Mahabalipuram. Apart from the fact that it is the home to World Heritage-listed rock-cut temples and caves, there are other contemporary political reasons with the historical background for choosing Mammalapuram as the venue for the summit. Modi and Xi Jinping had their first inaugral meet in Wuhan, China on 27-28 April 2018
In fact, it was not Modi but China that chose Mamallapuram as the venue for the second summit and reports say that the reason could be the ancient 8th-century security agreement between Pallava King and Chinese empire. On the other side, High Court Judge K.Chandru in his article 'Zhou Enlai to Xi Jinping' to The Hindu expressed his belief over the strategy of China to avoid Tibetians voicing against Jinping's visit to India.
He said, “The reason for China to choose Mamallapuram (which is 2000 Km away from Delhi) could only be due to Tibetians black flag protest”. However, a deep insight into the Modi and Xi Jinping meet reveals Centre's (Delhi Government) dynamic political plan to extend its rule up to Srilankan Islands.
In other words, the Modi-Xijinping meet could be the beginning of South Asia's biggest political game and a part of widely campaigned 'One India' ideology. Also, geographically Mamallapuram which is the ‘land of Tamil Nadu’ appears to be the ideal place for such a big mission.
