Telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan has reportedly stated that the minimum internet speed in India is set to rise from 512 Kbps to 2 Mbps soon. In India, telecommunications companies do not provide the speed of Internet service even closer to their 3G and 4G service advertisements, she reportedly said. Stating that the department is in the process of launching 5G services soon, she reportedly added that the minimum speed of the nation’s Internet service is very low.
