According to reports, a man named Jayapal, who is addicted to drugs, killed his mother Pushpa and brother Sathish at their home in Sadayalpatti village of Theni district. After killing them with a crowbar, the man then went on to kill the cattle in his house including a cow and a dog with the same weapon, say reports. He also reportedly set the hut in front of the house on fire. Police rushed to the spot after villagers informed them about the incident. The man was caught and admitted to hospital after two hours of struggle, reports added.
