People have gone so digital that if they face any problem or would want to express themselves then- they tag concerned people or higher officials to make a note. Many a times it has happened that people also tag wrong accounts to the concerned conversation.
A recent example on such cases, is a man from Tamil Nadu who tweeted his grievance and tagged Salem Police Department to his post. Minutes later, the man has become famous and it has attracted funny reactions and comments from people.
According to Hindustan Times report, a police from Bhubaneswar, identified as Arun Bothra, shared a post of a conversation between a man from Tamil Nadu and Salem Police Department. He complained about the grievance regarding auto rickshaws in the city.
The man, who wanted to tag Twitter handle of the Salem city police of the state, ended up tagging a police handle of a place by same name which is located in Oregon, USA. Yes, you read it right! He tagged Salem Police from Salem in Oregon, USA.
Meanwhile, Salem is a city in Tamil Nadu and it is also a city in Oregon in USA- that's where the confusion occurred.
Minutes after the tweet going viral, the police department in Oregon replied saying, "We are the Salem Police from Salem in Oregon, USA.". After Arun Bothra posted the screenshot, twitter users shared other tweets where Salem Police Department have been tagged wrongly.
