Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his deputy, O. Panneerselvam were sent notices by the Madras High Court after a civil suit by a former MLA was filed. R. Chinnaswamy, former secretary of the Anna Thozhir Sanga Peravai, filed a suit challenging his removal as secretary of the party's trade union wing. Reportedly, Chinnaswamy had been the secretary ever since 2009. According to the former secretary, only the general secretary of AIADMK has the power to remove him.
