The Madurai bench of Madras High Court on Monday expressed concern over lack of emergency medical facilities in toll gates on National Highways. The Chief General Manager of National Highway Authority of India was reportedly asked to appear in the court and give his explanation. According to media reports, Justice Sridharan, while hearing a petition filed by a man from Melur, pointed out that the vehicle is made waiting for 20 minutes to get a pass and the employees should understand that they cannot collect the toll fee if more than six vehicles wait at a time. The next hearing has been posted on September 13 on the issue.
