Madras HC quashes Goondas act on Thirumurugan Gandhi and three others

According to reports, the Madras High Court on Tuesday reportedly quashed the detention of May 17 movement founder Thirumurugan Gandhi and three others under Goondas act. Gandhi and Tamilar Vidiyal Katchi functionaries Tyson, Jegan alias Ilamaran, and Arunkumar were arrested for defying police orders and carrying out a candlelight vigil at Marina beach. The court reportedly observed that the petitioners had not indulged in any activity detrimental to public order.
