The Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), fondly referred to as Koyambedu was renamed on Tuesday as 'Puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR Bus Stand'.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had announced that CMBT will be renamed after AIADMK founder and former CM Dr MG Ramachandran at a function for the late leader’s birth centenary on September 30.
The new name is currently displayed at platform entrances. Soon, name boards across the terminus will be changed. The bus terminus has mofussil buses and long-distance express buses operated from various parts of Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
