KATHIRAMANGALAM PROTEST: CASE FILED AGAINST SEEMAN, VELMURUGAN

According to reports, police have filed a case against Naam Tamilar Katchi chief co-ordinator Seeman, Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi chief Velmurugan and Professor Jayaraman for organising a public meeting and holding protests without permission. They took part in a protest in Kathiramangalam village of Thanjavur district to mark the first year since the protests against ONGC began in the village on May 19, 2017.
Tamilar Desiya Munnani president Pazha Nedumaran and farmer organisations also took part in the event which took place on May 19 this year. The villagers began protests against opposing the oil and gas extraction process in the village alleging deterioration of the quality of agricultural lands in the area.
