Ahead of the annual Karthigai Mahadeepam festival, Tiruvannamalai district administration has reportedly made arrangements for devotees to take part in Girivalam. The festival begins on November 23 and ends on December 2. Reports say, over 3,000 special buses would be operated by the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation from different parts of the state to Tiruvannamalai. Further, Southern Railways will reportedly operate nine special trains from Tirunelveli, Chennai, Viluppuram and Vellore districts to Tiruvannamalai.
