Karnataka CM rejects request to release water from Cauvery river

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reportedly rejected Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami’s request to release 7 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) water from Cauvery river to meet the shortfall in water supply for irrigation purposes, on Saturday. Reports say, the request was denied stating reasons that Karnataka was already experiencing water deficit.
