Kannada outfit tears down banner with Tamil text in Bengaluru

According to reports, Kannada Rakshana Vedike, a Kannada outfit, tore down a banner containing Tamil text in Bengaluru saying only Kannada can be used in Karnataka. The banner was erected by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Corporator Elamalai wishing people for Pongal. The Kannada outfit's president Praveen Shetty reportedly said, "In Karnataka, we will accept only Kannada language banners."
