KAMAL HAASAN HOPEFUL OF GETTING RECOGNITION FOR HIS PARTY FROM ELECTION COMMISSION

Actor-politician who had gone to Delhi on Wednesday met with Election Commission officials and discussed the official recognition of his party, Makkal Needhi Maiam. He reportedly discussed the steps involved in formally registering his party with the EC.

Makkal Needhi Maiam was formed earlier this year and has been actively taking part in many issues. Haasan reportedly said, "EC officials have sought a few clarifications and we hope to submit the same by this evening. They have assured to accord recognition to the party very soon."

Kamal Haasan, however, clarified that he is yet to choose a party symbol.
