On Friday, Superstar Rajinikanth rubbished the claim that he was invited to join BJP. He also said that efforts were being made to paint him in BJP colours.
Speaking of the recent controversy regarding painting Thiruvalluvar in BJP colours after the party's Tamil Nadu Twitter handle posted a picture of Thiruvalluvar in saffron and sacred ash, Rajinikanth said that Attempts are being made to paint me with BJP colour, trying to paint me with saffron like Thiruvalluvar was done with - Neither Thiruvalluvar nor me will get trapped."
When asked about BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan's recent meeting with him and his assertion that Rajinikanth should join BJP, he said that he was not invited to join. "He didn’t offer (a place in BJP). If there is a political party, people will say we can join. But there are definitely no plans," he said.
Speaking of the nation, he said the economic growth is slow. He also said that he will act until he announces his political party and mentioned that there is a space for a strong and right leader. He also asked people to maintain peace whatever be the Ayodhya verdict.
