The Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari reportedly asked the state government to introduce double-decker buses in the inter-state route. According to media reports, the centre has agreed to support the state financially, and the tickets would be priced at Rs.10 per kilometere. The reason to bring up the double-decker bus back in use because they occupy less space on the road as they are compact and it will be profitable as the capacity of people will be higher. Reportedly, these buses will run in 75 different routes in India.
