According to media reports, Narayanapuram lake in Pallikaranai reportedly broke, resulting in rainwater entering nearly 500 houses. Heavy rains have been lashing the State since Monday and officials from Meteorological Centre have reportedly announced that rains are expected to slow down on Wednesday in Chennai.
