HEAVY RAIN ALERT, CHENNAI WEATHER REPORT FOR THE NEXT 2 DAYS

Chennai Metrological Department has announced that 14 districts in Tamilnadu are likely to receive heavy rainfall for the next 2 days. Further reports state that due to the formation of atmospheric overlay circulation and monsoon convection, most of the places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall
Districts including Vellore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Erode, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, Thiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Thiruvaroor and Tanjore are specifically forecasted to get heavy rains. The prediction also extends to parts of Pondicherry that would receive heavy rainfall.
The Chennai Metrological Department has also alerted the fishermen to stay behind the shores as the wind may blow up to 45 to 50 Kmph due to the depression caused over the South West Bay of Bengal. In Chennai, cloudy weather is expected to hover around and light rainfall would pour in after sunset.
