The Madras High Court on Monday reportedly summoned the Tamil Nadu State Election Commissioner to appear in person on October 23, in connection with a contempt of court case filed by DMK. The DMK filed the lawsuit after the Commission failed to issue a notification on the local body elections before September 18 as ordered by the HC. The court also reportedly condemned the Commission for not issuing the notification even after the court’s order.
