A group of 20 members reportedly staged a protest outside Satyam Cinemas on Friday. The protestors were from the All India Hindu Sathya Sena who demanded to stop movies from being screened. They reportedly stated that till the Cauvery Management Board is constituted, movies should not be screened.
The chief of the Sena, Vasantha Kumar lashed out at Rajinikanth for the Kaala audio launch on Wednesday and reportedly told the media, "Rajini has said he wants to bring Cauvery. After fulfilling his promise, he can release his film. If they continue doing this we will rip the screens." The protestors also criticised the double standards of politicians who demanded IPL to be banned over the failure of constituting the Cauvery Mangement Board.
Reportedly, the security outside Satyam Cinemas was increased, but the traffic in Royapettah remained undisturbed.
