According to police, a motorcycle-borne gang attacked and beheaded a 32-year-old man near a railway level crossing in Thanjavur when he was travelling to Saliyamangalam. When the victim Rajeshsimman, the son of a former AIADMK town secretary in Ammapettai, stepped out of his car, four men on two motorcycles attacked him, police said.
