WATCH - KALAIGNAR'S FUNERAL WORKS COMMENCE AT MARINA

After moving the court for DMK veteran Dr M Karunanidhi to be buried in Marina, an intense hearing took place on Wednesday morning. Both TN govt and DMK's counsel argued their points and finally, the Madras HC announced its verdict.

The HC ordered space to be allotted for the DMK Chief to be buried in Marina. Following the verdict, DMK cadres were seen celebrating their leader's victory. Stalin was even spotted crying tears of joy.

After the HC's order, preparations began at Marina for Kalaignar's burial. Diggers arrived at Anna Memorial following which people were seen cheering. Karunanidhi will reportedly be put to rest next to his mentor CN Annadurai's memorial. He will be buried behind Anna's memorial.

According to reports, Duraimurugan, AV Velu and other important DMK officials personally went to the spot to inspect the area. Security has been beefed up near Anna Memorial.
