ANOTHER DISTRICT IN TAMIL NADU BECOMES COVID-19 FREE! NO CASES REPORTED FOR LAST 10 DAYS

After days of work and planning, the medical team heaved a sigh of relief after last COVID-19 patient was discharged on Wednesday.
"There have been no fresh cases in the district for the last 10 days. This is possible because of the combined effect of the health department, revenue department and district administration," Coimbatore District Collector said.
As per Times of India (ToI) report, Coimbatore joined the league of Erode, Sivaganga and Tirupur as the district has not recorded any confirmed cases for the last 10 days. Looking at today's stats, Tamil Nadu has crossed the 9000-mark with 509 fresh cases. Other than Chennai, 15 others reported cases in the state.
Highlighting about how, Coimbatore flatten the curve- since March 22, when the district recorded its first COVID-19 case. The patient, a woman who returned from Spain, tested positive. Ever since she tested positive, the district administration were doing their best to contain the spread of the virus. As the news about the patient spread across the state, the district administration barred the entry of vehicles into Coimbatore.
Despite shutting borders, the medical team came into action to help an Erode-based female doctor, who was working in a railway hospital and was later admitted to ESI Hospital for treatment on March 29. From there, the focus went to Tablighi Jamaat conference in Delhi, especially on the people who returned.
Only to track them down, health workers scattered across Coimbatore city, Pollachi, Anamalai, Annur and Mettupalayam that helped them in locating more people. After which, all of them were isolated at ESI Hospital to undergo home isolation.
Also, patients admitted to ESI Hospital were fed a nutritious diet besides being given medicines. Looking at the stats till date, Coimbatore recorded 146 positive cases and one COVID-19 death.
