National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has slapped Fortis Hospital in Gurugram for charging a 7-year-old dengue patient Rs 18 lakh. Unfortunately, the girl died and couldn't be saved even after her parents shelled out a whopping amount for treatment. NPPA has directed the hospital to provide all bills including names of medicines used with details of price and quantity. Earlier, the Centre also asked for a report from the hospital. The hospital, however, has refuted the allegations and said that due protocol has been followed.
