According to an analysis of candidates’ affidavits by the Arappor Iyakkam and the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), nine out of 59 candidates contesting in the RK Nagar bypoll have criminal cases pending against them. The report also mentions that the wealthiest candidate contesting is K. Kalaikottuthayam with declared assets worth Rs.16 crore, followed by TTV Dhinakaran and E.Madhusudhanan.
