According to reports, a 13-year-old girl died at the Kammapuram government primary health centre as doctors came late to the hospital. Mahalakshmi, a class VIII girl at the Kammapuram government higher secondary school near Virudhachalam in Cuddalore district, was rushed to the hospital by teachers after she fainted during prayer meeting at the school.
However, they had to wait as the doctor at the hospital didn’t arrive on time. After waiting for over 30 minutes, the girl shockingly died at the hospital. Enraged over her death, the parents and people began to protest and staged a roadblock on the Chidambaram-Virudhachalam road.
Mahalakshmi is a daughter of Chandrasekar from Su. Kinanur near Virudhachalam. People alleged that a lot of people suffer due to the absence of doctors at the hospital. While people protested, police held talks with them to quit protest.
