Relatives of a 9-month pregnant woman protested after a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus driver kicked the woman in Erode, say reports. The incident happened when the relatives and parents took the lady from Dharmapuri to Ooty to hold ‘Valaikappu’ ceremony for her.
They came to Erode through train and boarded a bus to Ooty. When the bus was boarding passengers in the bus stand, another bus from Chennimalai came behind. The driver of the bus honked the horn to alert the driver at the front to move the bus. However, the Chennimalai bus driver was enraged as the bus to Ooty didn’t move.
He got off the bus and, in a fit of rage, he kicked the pregnant woman, who got off from the Ooty bus. Shocked over the unexpected attack, the relatives of the woman and people in the area protested demanding the arrest of the driver. They dispersed after the police assured action against the driver.
