CHENNAI: EMPLOYEES BEAT 19-YEAR-OLD MAID TO DEATH WITH 'DOSA-SPATULA'

A wife of a businessman and her sister were arrested for beating their maid to death with a 'dosa-spatula'. Muruganandham and Sushmita lived in Besant Avenue in Adyar to whom 19-year-old Mahalakshmi has been working as a maid for the last five years.

On Wednesday, Sushmita had informed her husband, who was at work, that Mahalakshmi died and together they went to the police. The woman convinced the police that the victim was alone in the house when the incident happened. However, on post-mortem, the police found scars on Mahalakshmi's body and discovered that she was tortured with boiling water as well.

On further probing, Sushmita accepted to having killed her maid. Sushmita alleged that Mahalakshmi went crazy and threatened to kill herself if she was fired. The police reportedly arrested Sushmita and her younger sister.
