Reportedly TN CM on Thursday urged the Central government to not affiliate Central Institute of Classical Tamil or any university to the center as it would make it hard to take any steps to strengthen the Institute. According to media reports, Palaniswami asked the union ministry to focus on the autonomous character of the institute. The state government has allocated 17 acres of land for the construction of Central Institute of Classical Tamil University in Kanchipuram with fund allocated from the center of Rs. 24 crores, a report says.
