The Madras High Court on Thursday reportedly said the family courts should not treat husbands like ‘armless soldiers’ and order them to pay maintenance to wives in a “mechanical manner”. The court observed that a man is a son to his parents and is liable to manage his aged parents as well. Asking the family courts not to ignore this fact, the high court said, the husband, in some cases, pay up to two third of his income to the estranged wife.
