After the death toll of Dengue has officially reached 80, doctors want the disease to be declared an epidemic. Out of the 80 deaths, 40 are due to dengue and the other 40 are due to haemorrhagic fever or shock - a syndrome triggered by Dengue. According to Times of India, a senior health official said that they have disclosed only 11,400 dengue cases while the real number is three times more. They have decided not to reveal the factual number of dengue cases so that public won’t panic, said the report.
