DMK TO HOLD EMERGENCY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

Dr M Karunanidhi passed away at 94 on Tuesday at Kauvery Hospital at 6.10 pm due to a brief illness. Three days following his death, DMK working president MK Stalin has organised for an emergency Executive Committee meeting.
The meeting will be held on August 14 at 10 am. Before the announcement, Stalin reportedly met with the general secretary K Anbazhagan on Friday.
It is expected that Stalin, the current working president of the party may be promoted as the president of DMK. However, DMK Rajya Sabha MP TKS Elangovan told TNM that such promotions can only be made in a General Council Meeting and that the Executive Committee will only be meeting to offer their condolences to the late leader.
