DMK legislators staged a walkout on the first day of the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday boycotting Governor Banwarilal Purohit’s speech. Speaking to the reporters after staging the walkout, DMK working president MK Stalin said that the Governor has not ordered a trust vote even as a government without the majority is still in power. The Governor is just reading a document that the AIADMK government has prepared, Stalin alleged. Asserting that the Governor’s inspection visit to the districts in the state affects the state autonomy and is against democracy, the DMK working president accused Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami of not holding talks with the transport employees who are involved in the strike for the fifth consecutive day.
