DMK HOLDS AGITATIONS IN CHENNAI OVER THOOTHUKUDI POLICE FIRING

Members of DMK, along with coalition party members, is holding agitations in Saidapet and Egmore in Chennai condemning the police firing in Thoothukudi which killed at least 13 people. VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan, DMK MP Kanimozhi and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi president Jawahirullah took part in the agitation in Egmore.
Ex-mayor M Subramanian participated in the agitation in Saidapet. The cadres raised slogans against Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and the state government over the tragic incident in the harbour town.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the DMK cadres attempted to block trains in Egmore railway station as part of the agitation. DMK, along with coalition parties, has called for a state-wide shutdown to condemn the shooting at the anti-Sterlite protesters.
