The DMK cadres have been staging a roadblock near the Secretariat in Chennai condemning the police firing in Thoothukudi which has killed at least 13 people so far. A large number of cadres, who had gathered near the Secretariat in Rajaji Salai, began the roadblock even as the party working president MK Stalin is holding a dharna protest in front of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s room in the Secretariat.
Reports suggest that the Congress MLAs have also joined Stalin and the DMK MLAs in the protest. Police are involved in attempts to hold talks with the protesting MLAs and the cadres, who have staged a roadblock. They have alleged that Chief Minister Palaniswami is responsible for the police firing in Thoothukudi.
