Former DIG of Prisons Roopa who had earlier released a report on the special treatment given to VK Sasikala, the convict in the disproportionate assets case, has now come public, revealing the list of violations made by the latter. Speaking to a private TV news channel, Roopa said, “Sasikala was given the luxury of using five cells along an entire barricaded corridor of 150 ft, while there was overcrowding in other cells. She was given a LED TV, personal dress (instead of white uniforms worn by convicts), own bedding and was served with separately cooked lavish food at her disposal. Further, Roopa added that Sasikala was handed the privilege of meeting her visitors at a privately curtained officer’s room, instead of the common visitor's room.
