Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reportedly said that it is difficult for choppers to land as the Kurangani hill is a steep one. Nine trekkers lost their lives so far in the massive fire in Theni’s Kurangani hills, 30 people were rescued. The rescued trekkers were taken to various nearby hospitals for first aid and treatment, six of them are in critical conditions.
