After a goat of the Dalit family strayed off into a nearby farm, Devi and her 19-year-old daughter were made to fall at the feet of the village's kangaroo court Gounder members. Allegedly, the court members had already harassed Devi and her daughter earlier for the same issue, for which the daughter objected to. A few days later, they were called to the kangaroo court for punishment. Devi was made to fall at the feet of all the 15 Gounders many times to save herself and her family. The family has lodged a complaint with the nearby police station.
