The announcement came a day after the state government ordered to seal inter-state borders and evoked a statewide lockdown till March 31 to combat the spread of the Coronavirus.

1 – Rs. 3250 crores will be set aside for COVID-19 relief measures.
2 – Ration for April including rice, dal, sugar and cooking oil will be provided free of cost for all family ration card holders on token basis.
3 – Those who are unable to collect their ration for March can collect it in April.
4 – All family ration card holders to get Rs. 1000 each. It will be implemented with immediate effect.
5 – Families belonging to other states and involved in unorganized sector jobs in Tamil Nadu to get 15 kilograms of rice, 1 kilogram of dal and 1 litre of cooking oil.
6 – Construction workers and auto drivers to get Rs. 1000.
7 – Government-run Amma canteens will continue to provide subsidized food.
8 – Two days special wages for those who had worked under the MGNREGA, commonly known as 100 days of employment scheme.
9 – Kitchens will be set up to provide food for the destitute across the state.
Members at the assembly also clapped for a minute expressing gratitude towards the health, police and other departments working amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
