COVID-19 AREA WISE BREAK-UP FOR CHENNAI: MOST AFFECTED, POSITIVE, HOSPITALIZED AND RECOVERED CASES AS OF APRIL 27
Home > News Shots > Tamil NaduUnder lockdown, with various containment zones, Chennai continues to actively fight the spread of the novel coronavirus. While some areas in Chennai are adversely affected, some other areas which previously showed no signs of infection have recently been reporting a minimum number of cases.
Royapuram is affected the most as 145 people have tested positive, constituting 27% of the total cases reported in Chennai. Following Royapuram is Thiru-Vika-Nagar, where 85 people are infected. 65 people in Tondiarpet, 55 people in Teynampet, 54 people in Kodambakkam, and 45 people in Anna Nagar have tested positive for COVID-19.
17 people from Valasaravakkam and Adyar each have tested positive, followed by Thiruvottiyur, where 14 people have tested positive. 9 cases in and Alandur and 8 people in Perungudi have also been reported as positive cases. Sholinganallur and Ambattur have recorded 2 cases each and Madavaram has recorded 3 cases. Within the city limits, Manali stands at 1 case.

Totally 523 cases have been reported in Chennai and 352 people are currently hospitalised for treatment. 12 deceased persons are from Royapuram (5), Thiru-Vika-Nagar (3), Anna Nagar (3), and Tondiarpet (1).
158 people have recovered in the city.

The city’s residents are to strictly follow the rules implemented by the authorities, especially those residing in and around the containment zones; to pave way for normalcy to return.
