According to a report by Puthiya Thalaimurai, tribal people in Anaikatti of Coimbatore were duped in ‘Joker’ film style. The contractor Eswaran built a single toilet and took photos of all the villagers before the toilet to prove that he built toilets for all of them. The government, under the Swachh Bharat scheme, had allocated Rs 12,000 for each toilet with toilets for 45 families to be built. The villagers have reportedly alleged that no action was taken after repeated complaints to rural development officer Rajan.
