Close all the granite quarries gradually: HC to TN govt

The Madurai bench of Madras High Court on Wednesday reportedly ordered the Tamil Nadu government to close all the granite quarries in the state gradually. The bench also directed the government to operate quarries only to meet the need for crushed stones, and in a way that does not lead to the environmental degradation, reports added.
