Poor education in TN: Class 12 students unable to read simple sentence

In a shocking report, a fourth of school children ranging from 14 - 18 years from Madurai villages were not able to read simple sentences in English or Tamil. The report was reportedly conducted by Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2017 ‘Beyond Basics’. As much as 1,044 youths in 60 TN villages were involved in the survey.
