An economic offences court in Madurai on Friday reportedly ordered 5-day police custody for Nirmalan K, who surrendered on Wednesday. The prime accused in the Nirmal Krishna Nidhi chit fund scam surrendered before Madurai special court. Reports suggest that an amount to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore has allegedly been swindled from around 15,000 people by Nirmalan’s chit fund firm.
