CHENNAI TREKKING CLUB FOUNDER GETS ANTICIPATORY BAIL

The Madurai bench of Madras High Court has reportedly granted anticipatory bail to Chennai Trekking Club founder Peter Van Geit in a case related to the deaths in Kurangani hills forest fire. At least 23 people have died after the forest fire engulfed the hills on March 11 when two groups were on a trekking journey. A case was filed against Van Geit following allegations that several rules were flouted during the trip.
